Nano electronics books...

One year back when i started in my venture into the nano world, the main difficulty which i faced to go ahead is proper guidance. Neways i managed to get hold of some books which indeed helped me to get some very basic knowledge in the field of nanotechnology although nothing as such in particular. In this post I ll mention name of a few books which i been through very recently and have found them to be very useful and am proud to share with you.

Well i started off my venture with a book which i dont think is of dat imprtance to mention, but since it was my first book i ll mention it
# a book by appin international - Nanotechnology

Well about the beginning i suppose any basic book, which talks about Nanotechnology, its future prospects, its pros, cons and some very basic theories will do.
# Nanoconvergence - The Unity of Nanoscience, Biotechnology, Information Technology and Cognitive Science by William Sims Bainbridge
# Inroduction to Nanotechnology by Charles Poole, Franks J Owens. Wiley
# Nanophysics and Nanotechnolgy by Edward L. Wolf
Besides you can go through any book which you think can provide with a proper idea about the present scenario in the field of nanotechnolgy. Remember this is a very basic step and the most important step in your journey because this steps helps you decide which field you wanna go - nanobiotechnology or nanoelectronics or nanomaterials. The power to choose entirely resides on , it all depends on your interest in the field you interested in in.

Now once you get decided in the topic it becomes a bit clear as as in whatz next?? Well this is where you need to go through a lot of research paper and books based on the basics you know. I think its better to take the guidance of a teacher if u can access one, else you can join forums on nanotechnolgy and take advice from them. To mention one try http://nanohub.org - a project by Purdue University. It has a lot of video lectures, simulation tools, teachin aids and best thing a lot of teachers involved. Check my previous blog entry for more details on the website. They are indeed helpful.

Here i ll be only be able to list some of the books on basic nanoelectronics as i am presently studying in the field of nanoelectronics basically. To name a few books
# Fundamentals of Nanoelectronics by George W Hanson
# Silicon Nanoelectronics by S Oda and D Ferry -a account of the recent developements in the field.
# Fundamentals of Semi-conductor devices by Edward S yang
# Nanotechnolgy for electronic material and devices by Korkin, Labanowski, Gusev, Luryi. Springer
Besides for more study in the field of single electron devices i would prefer the ieee paper or research materials which i suppose one can get in ample quantity on internet.

Lastly i would like to give a advice to all. Remember when you start a topic on your own you might feel bored or frustrated, but beleive me if u wanna really know the field and you try and put in a little effort, you will see in no time you are quite comfortable and its really interesting.

Do share information on any books or journals or papers if you hav. In my next post i ll try sharing some of the papers which i collected.

Nano Hub

I came across this very awesum website which has a lot of information on nano science n technology. This very website contains a hell lot of information on the very new subject. With the help of teachers all around the globe n the sponsers not to mention, it is really helpful for students like me, who want to know more on the subject yet limited by the availability of the resources... It contains your personal page wherein you can customize the stuff you want to give more importance. Say for example you are more of a interested in nano - bio, then you can hav all the recent happenings and articles focussed upon on ur page rather ur account. Its very uselful both for the students n the researchers n the teachers. Afterall everyone is in the process of learning, so the website really helps us to a great extent in sharing information and get the maximum out of this mysterious technology. Not to mention of the very useful tutorials that it has, it is very very very very.... useful and at the same time fun to go thru :) Talking statistically it has
# 91835 users (both teachers n students)
# 1627 resourses
# 143 tools
# 392784 simulations (simply wow!)
Starting from nano bio to nano electrmechanical, it has all in store for you... What else, go and get the max out of it....
